Channels and sources

How each tap's channel is detected, and how to set it yourself.

Every tap is tagged with the channel it came from. Dropplink checks these signals in order and uses the first one it finds:

#SignalExample
1?s= on the linkgo.acme.com/diwali?s=email
2?utm_source= on the linkgo.acme.com/diwali?utm_source=newsletter
3The link's channel, set when you create itA link created with channel Email
4The in-app browser the tap happened inInstagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest, X, Telegram, Discord, Threads
5The site the visitor came fromyoutube.com, t.co, wa.me, mail.google.com, google.com…

Leave a link's channel on Detect automatically when you'll share the same link in several places. Set it when a link is only for one channel, like an email campaign, where the in-app browser can't tell.
